Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying.
Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and the required ability or potential to perform the job.
Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) will be eliminated from further competition.
The SOE and minimum qualifications for this position is: Ability to Lead (Screen-Out Element): I instruct other workers on less complex work methods; refer to manuals as a means in answering questions related to the duties and responsibilities of the position; and adhere to all safety standards.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Physical Effort Performs work on hard surfaces and in areas that require prolonged standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
May be required to lift and carry supplies, materials and equipment that may weigh up to 70 pounds. May be subject to being lifted by equipment as high as 25 feet.
May be required to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time. May be subject to strain from vibration of MHE. Working Conditions Work is performed inside and outside.
Inside areas may be dirty, dusty, hot, cold, damp, drafty or poorly lighted. Work may be performed in bad weather in such outside areas as storage yards and open docks.
Worker is frequently subject to cuts, bruises, scrapes, falls from ladders, falling boxes, injuries from mechanical conveyor systems or other material handling equipment.
Incumbent is required to wear appropriate safety equipment and clothing required for the area in which work is performed. Major Duties:
