Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping to create and promote the branding for a U.S.

Air Force support squadron in Germany by making messages, graphics, videos, photos, and other content for online platforms, social media, websites, and base events.

A good fit would be someone with experience in marketing across digital and traditional channels who enjoys working creatively in a team, can handle multiple tasks under pressure, and is comfortable with customer interactions.

It's ideal for U.S. citizens or eligible residents passionate about military community support and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Key Requirements

  • Progressively responsible experience in multi-channel marketing, including internet, social media, web content, writing, and email campaigns
  • Knowledge of web-based applications, programming methods, office and design software
  • General understanding of marketing principles, special events, public relations, advertising, web development, design, publishing tools, and content management systems
  • Customer service experience with internal and external customers
  • Strong multitasking, analytical problem-solving, organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for long periods, and work nights, weekends, holidays at indoor/outdoor events
  • U.S. citizenship or NATO country citizenship with U.S. permanent resident card; must pass T1 (NACI) security investigation

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Marketing Office, Ramstein AB, Germany. This position may be eligible for logistical support.

Under the supervision of the Marketing Director, assists in designing, developing and executing 86th Force Support Squadron brand through messaging, copy, graphical, video, event photography and promotional content to be distributed online and through base wide avenues.

Citizens and legal U.S. residents in Germany. In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between Germany and the U.S., you must be a U.S. citizen or citizen of a NATO country with a U.S.

permanent resident card in order to be eligible for NAF employment.

Citizens of Germany (including dual citizenship if Germany is one of the countries) as well as "ordinarily resident" US citizens are not eligible for NAF employment per SOFA agreement.

If not already in the commuting area, must be able to verify the ability to arrive before a firm job offer can be sent.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must have progressively responsible work experience and skill in multi-channel marketing to include internet and social media, web content development, writing, and e-mail campaigns.

Must have knowledge of web-based applications and programming methods, office and design software.

Must have general knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing, special events, public relations and advertising, and knowledge of web development and design, including using publishing tools and content management systems across large websites.

Marketing degree is a plus but not required. Must have customer services experience dealing with internal and external customers.

Active practitioner of social media and networking platforms and tools preferred.

Must be able to multitask and work under pressure with minimal supervision and have strong analytical problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to work in a team environment.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods of time at both indoor and outdoor functions. Must be able to work some nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.

Best-qualified candidate will have experience using Air Force NAF-specific systems such as IBPS, SAIS, and P-Card systems.

Position is subject to satisfactory completion of all required security checks to include a T1 (NACI) investigation. Major Duties:

Under the supervision of the Marketing Director, assists in designing, developing and executing 86th Force Support Squadron brand through messaging, copy, graphical, video, event photography and promotional content to be distributed online and through base wide avenues.

Primarily responsible for creating, editing, publishing, administering and removing website, social/digital and print content.

Manages multiple versions of content, designs, and implements new technology, recommends solutions for customers, and performs web search data analysis.

Responsible for development, design, writing and sending of weekly e-mail, text and website updates for the Kaiserslautern Military Community.

Develops content for all customer-facing formats, including website and digital/social media.

Acts as lead for Webmaster, Social Media and Marketing Assistants to develop creative promotions, information and direct marketing for both website pages and social/digital media.

Reviews copy, graphics advertisements and links to ensure quality and proper branding of website.

Develops and implements campaigns, promotions and advertising to increase Kaiserslautern Military Community participation with social and digital media.

Identifies and acquires job related requirements for equipment, supplies, and software. Performs limited market research using focus groups and surveys, provides data to activity managers.

Assists with employment of proper publicity tools, including (but not limited to) the FSS website, e-mails, base bulletin, slides, posters, flyers, banners, road signs, monitor ads, the quarterly monthly E-magazine (Was ist Los), and all social media outlets to effectively advertise facility events and inform the public about program availability.
