With over 78 years of serving our nation's Veterans, the Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) is currently seeking a dynamic Marketing Assistant for our Saint Louis, MO Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center Canteen.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized administrative experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of an Administrative Support Assistant effectively.
Marketing and Advertising Knowledge: Understanding of advertising and marketing principles, practices, and strategies used to support organizational branding and promotional efforts.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and SharePoint; experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is a plus.
Creative and Strategic Thinking: Ability to apply creative thinking in support of the Lead Marketing Specialist, Graphic Designer, and Chief Brand Officer to develop effective brand and marketing tactics.
Communication and Presentation Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief, present, train staff, and respond professionally to customer feedback. Major Duties:
DUTIES: Duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Marketing Campaign Coordination: Coordinates marketing campaigns across retail, food, and service operations, ensuring timely and accurate execution of daily and special programs Communication/Marketing Schedule and Material Management: Develops and manages marketing schedules and materials, including preparing, prioritizing, and coordinating all data, graphics, and files for release.
Content Development and Compliance: Assists with the creation and review of marketing content, ensuring compliance with branding and regulatory standards for print and digital campaigns.
Marketing Material Proof/Review and Formatting: Reviews and formats marketing materials, including flyers, signage, and promotional assets, in editable Microsoft formats for retail use.
Production Oversight and Process Improvement: Approves and oversees the production of printed marketing materials, identifying opportunities to improve design quality, cost efficiency, and distribution processes.
Warehouse and Budgetary Management: Receive and record invoices, provide reporting to finance. Marketing Research: Research competition, resources, trends, and business segments as assigned.
Digital Marketing Support: Coordinate digital marketing assets to support the digital marketing manager.
