This job is for a manager in a naval warfare center branch focused on engineering and testing missile systems for national defense.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a MANAGER in the Global Deterrence & Defense Department (GX), Missile Systems Hardware & Test Division (GXW), Systems Engineering Branch (GXWV) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions.

This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-14 Step 10 (currently $163,514).

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist providing leadership and technical direction in the management of research, development, test and evaluation, or system integration efforts related to Strategic Missions systems and equipment.

  • You will manage and be responsible for the actions and functions for a branch.

  • You will ensure adherence to compliance areas such as Safety, Environmental, and Security. Provides positive leadership and is a role model to workforce.
  • You will effectively communicate up, down, and across the chain of command, and with outside organizations, sponsors and business partners.
  • You will be responsible for understanding the rules and regulations of the Government Purchase Card program, for ensuring proper purchase card use, and for taking prompt and effective administrative and disciplinary corrective actions when warranted.
