Full Job Description

Are you knowledgeable about Pennsylvania insurance laws, regulations, and procedures? If so, consider starting a new chapter in your career with the Insurance Department, Administration, and Coverage Compliance Division as a Management Technician. Within this role, you will be responsible for providing essential support within the Bureau of Mcare to ensure health care providers (HCPs), professional corporations, associations, and partnerships have the appropriate medical professional liability insurance coverage. Bring your work ethic to our department and help us improve internal processes and procedures to increase efficiency within the Unit!

Requirements

As a Management Technician, you will be responsible for examining medical malpractice insurance filings and funds to provide coverage for HCPs, professional corporations, professional companies, professional associations, and partnerships prior to the Coverage Specialist performing a more thorough and professional analysis of the data.

Work involves analyzing documents, preparing forms, maintaining accurate records, and generating a variety of reports.

You will have the opportunity to serve as point of contact for credentialing organizations, notifying appropriate internal and external personnel when inaccurate or incomplete information is received, and assisting with preparing annual assessment manuals.

You will also be responsible for analyzing reports from licensing agencies, such as Department of Health and Department of State, to determine licensees’ eligibility to participate in Mcare.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of advanced clerical or para-professional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training. An Associate's Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience.
