Full Job Description

This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Asst Secretary for Housing-Federal Housing Commissioner. Washington D.C.

is a potential duty location for this position; however, the Washington D.C. office is expected to relocate to Alexandria, Virginia.

Selectees may be required to report initially to Washington, D.C and later report to Alexandria, Virginia.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience for the GS-13, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as: - Planning segments of projects involving design and development of management information systems; AND - Offering advice and technical assistance to management regarding management information system applications; AND - Analyzing policies, statistics, and software in order to optimize business practices.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.

Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

As a/an Management Information Specialist, you will: Prepare current and historical analyses of multifamily insurance, subsidy data, etc., to be used in press releases for the Secretary, Assistant Secretary for Housing and the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Multifamily Housing Programs.

Also, prepare workload program monitoring reports to be used in evaluating field office performance.

Consult with senior program managers on the creation of management information systems or quality control or monitoring techniques.

Design and conduct computerized statistical analyses and keep abreast of the latest techniques in the professional literature in an on-going effort to determine variables and procedures to be used in monitoring program performance.

Serve in a liaison capacity representing the Office of Multifamily Housing Programs and the Assistant Secretary for Housing in statistical operations with research and Housing trade organizations and other Government agencies in the field of finance and housing.
