Summary

This job involves managing and analyzing audit processes for the Defense Logistics Agency's energy programs, ensuring compliance with government financial standards and leading remediation efforts for any issues found.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.

To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes: Understanding and experience of Whole of Government (WoG) and DoD accounting methods, sources, and structures concerned with the ongoing audit compliance and program activities across the entire spectrum of the United States Federal Government Utilizing changing audit issues and governmental policies to evaluate and monitor the impact of daily program activities on audit procedures.

Working with Artificial Intelligence to perform audit analyses on sample data extracted from EBS, Military Service data sets, and DoD wide data.

Developing and evaluating of informational studies, briefings, and position papers on audit related issues for senior leaders in decision making and communicating the impact of program proposals and legislative changes Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Serves as the Program Manager for DLA Energy Financial Statement Audit requests and responses
  • Leads the evaluation of Notice of Findings for necessary remediation efforts associated with the assigned energy business process
  • Works independently to evaluate the economy and efficiency of operations, program results and the systems of internal control, oversee the accomplishment of work performed...
  • ... and requires knowledge of supply chain management, audit, accounting principles/theories/concepts/practices and OMB guidelines.
  • Responsible for the development and evaluation of written informational studies, briefings and position papers which are intended for use by leadership in decision making.
  • The PM plans, coordinates and leads site visits to various locations throughout the world as requested by external auditors or to perform assessments and testing of DLA Energy's Internal Control Program.
