Summary

This job involves analyzing and improving programs in the logistics and maintenance division of U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, including conducting studies, developing policies, and advising managers on resource allocation and problem-solving.

Full Job Description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, Office of Air and Marine Operations, Logistics and Maintenance Division located in Washington, DC.

Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Planning, conducting, and/or participating in relevant studies, providing advice to managers, developing and evaluating policies in assigned program areas, and providing assistance to headquarters and field offices.

Applying analytical tools and methodology to develop and implement laws, policies and regulations, and to resolve broad and complex planning, evaluation, control, and resource allocation problems.

Summarizing findings in order to provide authoritative advice to management throughout the organization.

Planning and organizing projects, studies, and teams, coordinating with staff and management, and conducting all phases of the work.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity.

The Management and Program Analyst is responsible for implementing, coordinating, and overseeing mission and administrative programs, designing and managing planning systems and budgets, developing management information systems, and providing technical support in acquisition, resource management, and strategic communications to meet Air and Marine Operations mission requirements.

This position starts at a salary of $121,785.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $158,322.00 (GS-13, Step 10).

The major duties include, but are not limited to: Implementing, coordinating, and overseeing a variety of mission or administrative programs that directly impact Air and Marine Operations.

Designing and administering planning and controls for submission of data, including forming the basis of budget and program resource requests and decisions.

Developing, implementing, and monitoring sophisticated management information systems.

Providing technical assistance and direct support to supervisors in all matters relating to the application of acquisition, resource management, planning systems, performance management, strategic communications, and management programs to meet mission requirements.
