Full Job Description

Organizational Location: This position is within the Department of Homeland Security, U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, International Operations and Advisory Directorate, Mission Support Division, Deployments, Relocation and Travel Branch in Ashburn, VA.

The location is negotiable after selection. Selectee must reside within 50 miles of a CBP facility.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 (one) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Conducting detailed analyses of relocation functions and work processes to resolve issues, validate relocation requirements, and recommend solutions in compliance with current policies and regulations.

Performing analytical studies and projects related to management improvement, productivity improvement, management controls, and long-range planning to determine budgetary and funding needs.

Reviewing relocation authorizations for accuracy and ensuring proper funds are allocated in accordance with organizational rules and guidelines.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity.

This position serves as an Analyst and Advisor to executive management on the Preclearance Relocation Program, a major administrative program requiring application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative techniques and management support principles.

This position starts at a salary of $106,437.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10). Salary: Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S.

scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection.

The major duties of this position include receiving, reviewing and analyzing relocation information for the program on a regular and recurring basis.

The duties also entail: Providing assistance in difficult and unusual relocation cases to reach effective solutions within government regulations and OFO policies and requirements.

Overseeing the planning and execution of relocations, coordinating and advising management on administrative programs.

Working with OFO Field Offices to approve relocation funding and monitoring progress until selection is completed.

Reviewing newly issued regulations or directives to ascertain their impact on program areas.
