Job Description

Summary

This job involves analyzing maintenance operations in small shops within the Army National Guard, reviewing data to spot issues like equipment reliability and manpower imbalances, and preparing reports to improve efficiency.

Full Job Description

This National Guard position is for a MANAGEMENT ANALYST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1256000 and is part of the NC G4, National Guard (G4- SMM / MD 5020-150).

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement.

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.

Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.

Military Grades: Enlisted (E5-E9) or Warrant Officer (CW2 and below) Minimum Requirements: Experience, education, or training in administrative, professional, investigative, technical or other responsible work which demonstrates analytical ability and a practical and theoretical knowledge of the functions, processes and principles of management.

Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience which has provided a working knowledge of the National Guard organizational structures, functions, procedures, and techniques.

Experience analyzing, interpreting and developing policies and procedures of local management. Major Duties:

  • As a MANAGEMENT ANALYST (TITLE 32), GS-0343-9, you will analyze maintenance capabilities, production effectiveness, equipment reliability, areas of deficiency, and trends of various small maintenance shops; review, extract, analyze, and collate maintenance data and prepares maintenance summaries from reports submitted by subordinate maintenance activities; advise when manpower authorization appears unbalanced, based on analytical and statistical studies, as directed; prepare for and support the mission through the accomplishment of duties pertaining to military training, military readiness, force protection and other mission related assignments including, but not limited to, training of traditional Guard members, CWDE/NBC training, exercise participation (ORE/ORI/UCI/MEI/OCI/IG, etc.), mobility exercise participation, FSTA/ATSO exercise participation, SABC training, LOAC training, weapons qualification training, participation in military formations, and medical mobility processing within the guidelines of NGB/ARNG/ANG/State/TAG rules, regulations and laws.
