Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing and tracking seized or forfeited assets for the Department of State's diplomatic security team, including developing systems to monitor these assets and guiding investigators on related policies.

Full Job Description

This position is located in the Bureau of of Diplomatic Security, Directorate for Domestic Operations, Office of Investigations, Criminal Investigations Division, Specialized Investigative Support Branch (DS/DO/INV/CR/SIS).

Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.

NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.

Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing financial analysis to asset forfeiture programs.

Experience tracking seized or forfeited assets in the Consolidated Asset Tracking System (CATS). Experience providing guidance to investigators on asset forfeiture policy.

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position. Major Duties:

  • Develops and implements procedures and systems to establish, operate, and assess administrative controls for tracking seized or forfeited assets.
  • Develops criteria for and conduct or participate in the review of field office financial investigations and forfeiture operations.
  • Manages databases and data conversions to support financial investigations and program operations.
  • Coordinates strategic processes with other federal, state, and non-governmental partners to optimize resources and avoid duplication.
