This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary of Science and Research (OUSSR), National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute (NZCBI), Smithsonian Institution (SI).

Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Service.
For this position, specialized experience is defined as planning, development, implementation and management of human resource programs of an organization, including management/classification, policy, recruitment and staffing strategies, succession planning strategies, employee and labor relations, training and staff development, and equal employment opportunity.

Major Duties:
This position reports to the Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives.
In this position, you will: Analyze NZCBI staffing needs, position structure and human capital management policy and strategies.
Provide position management and organizational design advice to management.
Function as a Liaison to Smithsonian Office of Human Resources (OHR) and serve as the principal liaison between OHR and NZCBI, providing support to Federal and Trust employees.
Consult with and serve as a key advisor to supervisors on all aspects of workforce development and management. Human Resource Strategic Advisor to NZCBI Leaders and Supervisors.
Administer NZCBI's human resource information management through computer systems and technology.
