Job Description

Summary

This job as a Management Analyst involves supporting the Department of Housing and Urban Development by analyzing policies, researching better ways to run housing programs, and recommending improvements to make operations more efficient.

It focuses on helping with affordable housing initiatives and community development through the Federal Housing Administration.

Key Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 level, including providing program support for policy analysis, development of procedures, legislation, or research

Full Job Description

This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Asst Secretary for Housing-Federal Housing Commissioner. Washington D.C.

is a potential duty location for this position; however, the Washington D.C. office is expected to relocate to Alexandria, Virginia.

Selectees may be required to report initially to Washington, D.C and later report to Alexandria, Virginia.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Providing program support and assistance to facilitate the analysis and/or development of policy, procedures, instructions, legislation, and/or research; AND - Researching and/or investigating new or improved management practices for application to programs or operations; AND - Identifying data required for use in the management and/or direction of programs.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12 you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
