Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will perform multi-trade maintenance and repair tasks involved in the upkeep of facilities, utility systems, infrastructure and dynamic equipment.
  • You will troubleshoot, repair electrical, HVAC, plumbing system components, and building maintenance.
  • You will be assigned to support routine and emergency service work, repair, and minor construction projects, performing multi-trade assignments, as workload dictates.
  • You will make repairs to wood or wood substitute items by taking proper measurements and fitting of replacement members to produce a serviceable product.
  • You will make repairs to stucco and plaster surfaces by removing damaged portions of structures, mixing and spreading mortar.
  • You will Install, maintain and repair electrical systems (e.g. lighting fixtures, switches, circuit breakers, relays, voltage regulators, wiring, solar fixtures, etc.), and similar devices.
  • You will test load equipment using calibrated instruments such as; voltmeters, frequency meters, and related instruments to ensure proper electrical measurements.
  • You will Install raceways, electrical wiring of switches, receptacles, light fixtures, disconnect boxes, fuse boxes, variable frequency drives, soft start contactors, meter and electrical panels.
  • You will Interpret sketches, blueprints, schematics and other engineering specifications pertaining to electrical systems in order to determine what electrical work is required.
