This job involves leading a small team of three or more workers to perform hands-on maintenance, repairs, and installations on Air Force facilities and equipment in California.

The primary purpose of this position is: To lead three or more workers to accomplish trades and/or labor work on a full time and continuing basis.
Leader is responsible to perform the work assigned by a supervisor and ensures that subordinates completed assigned work consistent with trades and labor standards.
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-4700 General Maintenance And Operations Work Family.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

(includes blueprinting reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Materials IDEAL CANDIDATE: Is someone with integrity who takes pride in their work, also is a TEAM player, works great with other members!
Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Civil Engineering programs such as Tririga, Builder, and preventive maintenance programs Knowledge of safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA): 1.Working knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s) 2.Knowledge of safety, environmental and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and current legislative issues as they relate to the requirements of the position.

Knowledge of technical practices and ability to read and interpret instructions, blueprints, sketches, drawings, and technical manuals in order to plan, lay out, and build a wide variety of facility and infrastructure maintenance, repair, and construction projects.
4.Knowledge of the use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and equipment common to trades and labor work performed by the group being led.
5.Knowledge of current automation technology and practices essential for the accomplishment of Tririga, AMP,Builder and preventive maintenance programs.
6.Skill in performing the trade and /or labor work of the group being led. 7. Ability to concisely communicate instructions, guidance both orally and in writing. 8.
Knowledge of advanced shop mathematics to plan, compute layout more complex and exact projects; and of regulations, procedures and policies relayed to maintenance and documentation. 9.
Ability to lead a team of three or more labor or trade employees. 10. Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Major Duties:
Leads a team of trades and/or labor workers. Performs work Reviews section work orders and drawings to determine materials and equipment needed to accomplish shop work orders.
Note: Acts as shop primary technical expert and point of contact for authorizing field changes to work plans and determines technical viability of work plan changes in scope, nature, and resource requirements.
Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Uses and maintains tools and equipment.
