The Department of Conservation & Natural Resources is seeking to fill a Maintenance Repairman 2 position.
This role is part of the Region 4 Swing Crew and requires regular travel to state parks throughout the Eastern Region of Pennsylvania to support daily operational needs.In this position, you will perform skilled, journey-level work across multiple trades, contributing to the maintenance, repair, and construction of park buildings, facilities, and equipment.

In this role, you may be required to work weekends and holidays as needed, and you will regularly travel throughout the Eastern Region of Pennsylvania.
The position is headquartered at the Hickory Run State Park Complex Maintenance Area in Carbon County.
As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform skilled, journey-level work across a wide range of trades—including building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and masonry—to support the construction, maintenance, and repair of park buildings, facilities, and equipment.
Under the direction of the supervisor, you will contact vendors, obtain price quotations, calculate supply and equipment costs, estimate labor hours, and prepare the necessary forms for review and approval.
You will also act as a lead worker, providing guidance to Semi-Skilled Laborers, Laborers, and other personnel during project completion.
Duties include performing rough and finish carpentry; interpreting blueprints and diagrams; repairing or installing structural components such as doors, windows, roofs, and decking; and constructing wood projects like shelving and cabinets.
Plumbing responsibilities involve repairing fixtures, clearing drains, replacing hot water tanks, installing and repairing water and sewage lines, servicing submersible well and lift station pumps, and winterizing systems.
Masonry work includes constructing and maintaining buildings, bridges, foundations, walkways, and walls; forming and finishing concrete; and laying block and stone.
Mechanical duties involve performing preventive maintenance and safety inspections on vehicles, equipment, and tools to ensure their proper operation.
