The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Repairman 1 to join their team. Requirements
In this position, your primary responsibility will be to deliver trade services that focus on the repair and preventive maintenance of equipment and infrastructure within the Forest District. This role will involve a variety of tasks, including mowing grass using specialized lawn care equipment, as well as the installation and upkeep of signs and gates throughout the area. You will also be responsible for setting up kiosks in various locations across the state forestlands. In addition to these duties, you will engage in the construction and maintenance of trails and roads, ensuring they remain accessible and safe for public use. During winter months, you will clear snow from sidewalks and parking lots, utilizing basic snow removal tools to maintain safe conditions. Furthermore, your role will extend to supporting wildfire suppression efforts by maintaining essential equipment and actively participating in related activities, thereby contributing to the overall safety and preservation of the forest environment. You will conduct regular forest fire protection activities by patrolling both sparsely populated and densely wooded regions during times of elevated fire risk. This proactive approach aims to prevent, detect, locate, report, and assist in the suppression of forest fires.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026, through November 2026, at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2027.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
