Requirements

The Maintenance Repairman 1 is tasked with the upkeep of Commonwealth buildings by performing general maintenance and cleaning areas in and around the building.

Duties include basic carpentry work, assisting electricians in major electrical projects and completing minor repairs and adjustments to small-motorized equipment.

You can expect to perform basic plumbing duties and assist in more complex problems. This position makes minor repairs to wall surfaces and applies paint to both interior and exterior surfaces.

Snow removal from building entrances, walkways and steps is included in your duties along with other miscellaneous tasks.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Essential Employee - required to work during emergencies and office closings.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.


Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirement:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
