This job is for a hands-on leader who supervises a team maintaining and repairing trees in Nashville's parks, including tasks like pruning, removing damaged trees, and ensuring safe operations.
It involves physically demanding work such as climbing trees and operating heavy equipment.
A good fit would be someone with strong leadership skills, experience in tree care, and the stamina for outdoor, high-risk activities.
The M&R Leader - Tree Crew position is a working supervisor over a crew involved in tree maintenance for Metro Parks locations. Duties consist of making work assignments, overseeing work in progress to ensure that the quality meets expectations. Performs related duties as required.
This position requires extreme physical ability and agility. The incumbent must have the ability to stoop, climb, and stand for long periods of time as well as the ability to work from high places.
Metro’s Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of facilities and programs throughout Davidson County.
Currently, the department oversees nearly 16,000 acres of open space, including 184 parks and 107 miles of greenway.
Metro Parks offers after school programs for children, activities for seniors (55+), cultural arts classes, dog parks, fitness classes, nature programs, sports leagues, ice hockey, art galleries, and much more.
