This job involves leading a team of maintenance workers at a naval shipyard to handle repairs and installations in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other trades, while ensuring safety in areas with radioactive materials.
It requires supervising daily tasks, coordinating between teams, and meeting production schedules in a high-stakes environment.

You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR in the NUCLEAR PRODUCTION MANAGER, OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE: *Ability to install and operate electrical fixtures, wiring, controls, read/follow wiring diagrams.
*Ability to operate and maintain Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning systems and ductwork/vents inside radiological controlled areas.
*Maintaining radioactive material accountability, inventory control, and ensuring escorted radioactive materials are processed as required. * Preparing, Packing, and transferring radiological material.
*Ability to interpret complex instruction, sketches, blueprints, and building codes.
