About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Center on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

As a Regular Full-Time employee, you have a regular and continuous work schedule of at least 35 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: May have knowledge and experience in plumbing, carpentry, and painting trades/occupations.

May have demonstrated the ability to troubleshoot and determine the need for repair and servicing of facilities, utilities, and equipment.

May have experience which demonstrates the ability to manipulate both tractor and equipment controls at the same time; knowledge of equipment to make connection on mechanical drive shafts and hydraulic lines; and skill to manipulate equipment over different types of terrain.

May have experience in operating and performing maintenance on field-type tractors and associated equipment. Must be able to lift, bend, and work in awkward positions both indoors and outdoors.

Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds and heavier with assistance. Major Duties:

Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of equipment to make sure they are in good mechanical and safe operating condition.

Performs routine inspection and minor maintenance on all vehicles assigned to Outdoor Recreation. Uses and maintains tools and equipment.

Utilizes hand and power tools such as but not limited to: drills, power saws, routers, standard hand tolls, straight edge, chalk line, tapes, rules, caulking items, pipe wrenches, rollers, putty knife, etc.

Must maintain all current certification required to complete all assigned tasks (ie HAZMAT, Safety, Motor Vehicle Operating, etc).

Drives/operates vehicles/equipment weighing up and over 10,000 pounds at various locations both on and off base.

Operates field-type tractors with attachments to maintain the grasses and brush in all areas. Operates Snow Removal and Grooming Equipment to include Snow Maker.

Snow Operations: Operates specialized snowmaking equipment (air, water, fan) to produce quality manufactured snow. Places, adjusts, and moves snow guns and hoses to maintain efficiency.

Operates vehicles such as snow cats, trucks with snowplows, and snowmobiles.

Lift Operations: Operates and repairs facility lifts (e.g., chairlift, rope tow) for extended periods, ensuring safe and continuous operation.

System Maintenance: Conducts regular maintenance on all winter equipment. Operates high-voltage equipment and high-pressure air/water systems using appropriate safety precautions.

Inspects trails, snowmaking equipment, and pipes regularly. Area Maintenance: Maintains load and unload ramps around lift stations.

Performs snow removal and raking as needed around equipment and other resort areas to ensure operational goals are met. Performs other related duties.

Receives training which includes standard of ethical conduct training, fire, safety, security, customer services, resource protection, and any other training deemed necessary by the supervisor.
