Schedule: Monday - Friday, 4am - 12:30pm

About the Division
The Business Resources Division (BRD) within DES provides a number of services to state agencies, local governments, and non-profit organizations. Services provided by the division includeConsolidated Mail Services, Fleet Operations, Management Staff, Printing & Imaging, and Surplus Operations.

DES provides centralized leadership in efficiently and cost-effectively managing resources necessary to support the delivery of state government services. The mission of DES is to implement a world-class, customer-focused organization that provides valued products and services to government and state residents.

Requirements


You will have daily contact with internal and external customers. Interpersonal skills are required to ensure a positive and professional interaction.

You will be ansewring questions about services and provide accurate information.

Interactions must be timely in order not to disturb customers workflow and you must be able to defuse customer concerns or assist them in contacting P&M staff who can promptly resolve problems.


Some of what you'll enjoy doing includes:
  • Operates, maintains, and configures BlueCrest high speed computerized inserters
  • Inserts continuous or cut sheet material containing various pages and inserts
  • Manually inserts mail
  • Familiar with all applicable insert barcodes
  • Trouble shoots machine problems and able to determine when to involve onsite technician or supervisor
  • Ensures the mail flow process is accurate and performed in a timely manner
  • Adheres to all current documented quality control procedures
  • Properly fills out and follows GAMS insert job tickets
  • Frequently checks mail for correct dates, indicia, address quality and proper envelopes during processing
  • Understands which insert mode, class/jobID and customer account to use when processing mail

Tools and Equipment:
  • BlueCrest inserters
  • Pitney Bowes meter machines
  • Keyboarding and ten key
  • GPC’s = USPS General Purpose Carts and various mail carts
  • Hydraulic lifts used to load and unload truck and to move mail to and from other sections of P&M

Qualifications


REQUIRED:
High school diploma or GED
AND
  • One (1) year of experience in a mail, warehouse, production or service industry environment
  • Sit/Stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Must have the ability to lift/move/transfer mail trays, tubs and/or packages weighing up to 70 lbs.
PREFERRED:

Valid driver’s license, free from serious traffic violations.
