Full Job Description

You will serve as a Mail Clerk in the Mail Facility of NAVSUP FLC SIG GF.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS- 04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing mail clerk duties.

Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Maintain logs of daily postal service business to provide reports to the Postal Officer; 2) Perform a variety of mail handling services (e.g., sort official and personal mail to support distribution to customers); 3) Perform clerical duties such as maintaining administrative records, required forms and adequate miscellaneous office and postal service supplies; 4) Maintain daily accountability of cash and cash instruments associated with a full service financial post office.

  • You will perform various duties involving the control, processing, and delivery of incoming and outgoing mail.
  • You will separate mail for internal or external distribution and by class of mail.
  • You will screen outgoing mail for proper addressing and ensure compliance with procedural requirements and postal regulations.
  • You will deliver and pick up mail and parcels at the field offices and hold "mail calls" at these sites to allow customers to deliver and pick up their mail.
  • You will process and consolidate mail to ensure it is transported at the lowest cost possible while at the same time meeting delivery and handling standards.
