Job Description

Summary

This job involves handling all aspects of mail operations at a naval logistics center, including receiving, sorting, processing, and delivering incoming and outgoing mail while ensuring compliance with postal rules.

You'll also operate automated equipment and assist customers with basic mail needs.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a MAIL ASSISTANT of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER JACKSONVILLE.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following 1) Receive, sort, collect, meter postage, process, deliver, and direct the distribution of incoming and outgoing mail; 2) Operate electronic/automated mail processing equipment, and other postal and mail center equipment; 3) Use basic job-relevant information systems and/or software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, automated research tools, database applications, and the internet; 4) Assist customers with routine requests.

  • You will receive, sort, collect, meter postage, process, deliver, and direct the distribution of incoming and outgoing U.S. Mail.
  • You will certify and operate electronic/automated high volume mail processing equipment, electronic postage metering systems, and other postal and mail center equipment.
  • You will ensure all incoming and outgoing mail is in adherence with all USPS, DOD/DON, regulations, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures for Postal Affairs.
