Full Job Description

This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1964000 and is part of the FL 125th FW, National Guard.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C.

709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians.

First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized.

Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

FLARNG BUS Code NG5022: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation.

MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted: E3 thru E6 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provided a working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and federal civilian or military personnel programs.

Experience which involved detailed knowledge of organizations and their functions in logistical support (i.e., supply, maintenance, quality assurance, facilities); experience planning and organizing work assignments.

TEMPORARY PROMOTION- For Title 32 and/or Title 5 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour).

If a permanent employee in Title 32 and/or Title 5 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will retain their permanent status AND return to their previous Title 32 and/or Title 5 position once the incumbent returns from military duty.

If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her reemployment rights within 5 years, the selected individual may remain in this position without further competition.

INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-For Current Title 5 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour).

If an on-board individual employed in Title 5 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will be converted to Title 32 and will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3).

If a Reduction-In-Force occurs and/or the military tour member exercises reemployment rights to this position, the indefinite appointee will have no reemployment rights to any other position and may be separated.

If the military tour member, having reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her rights within 5 years, this position may be converted to a permanent status without further competition.

Major Duties:

As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), GS-0346-9, you will provide technical/administrative assistance to the program manager for the Integrated Deployment System (IDS); Deliberate and Crisis Action Planning and Execution Segments (DCAPES), Contingency Operations/Mobility Planning and Executive System (COMPES), Logistics Module-Base Level (LOGMOD-B), Automated Air Load Planning System (AALPS), and Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS).

Ensures that all systems interface within IDS.

Assists the subject matter expert for COMPES in providing the Wing Commander and the Logistics Officer information in selecting, deploying and monitoring contingency forces.

Maintains LOGMOD-B and the Logistics Detail (LOGDET) data, assists in designing logistics packages to meet Operation Plans (OPLAN) tasking, and coordinates with tasked units to ensure compliance and accuracy of systems.

Assist with the management and production of AALPS products.

Provides continuous guidance and instruction to units on COMPES, Logistic Detail-Base Level (LOGDET-B) data and Manpower/ Personnel Module-Base Level (MANPER-B) matters.

Coordinates both LOGMOD-B and MANPER-B portions of COMPES for input and processing.

Produces COMPES data to support wartime activities and Operations Other Than War (OOTW) required by units to mobilize and deploy equipment and personnel.
