Full Job Description

You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGMENET SPECIALIST in the Sustainment Group, Product Support Management and Integration Department of NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledge of the policies and procedures of integrated logistics support (ILS) concepts and disciplines applied throughout the design and development of acquisition and life cycle support of Naval aviation weapon systems and equipment.

2) Knowledge of: related engineering principles; reliability and maintainability; safety; configuration management; maintenance planning and management policies; characteristics of a variety of NAVAIR systems and equipment and attendant logistics requirements; the PPBS and the Navy DOD program management and organizational management policies, principles, requirements, and procedures.

3)Integrate a large variety of work into coherent plans and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will lead SECNAV Independent Logistics Assessments and NAVAIR/Fleet TYCOM Operational Capability Supportability Review activities within NAVAIR and DON support of DoD JSF.
  • You will collaborate across NAVAIR functional disciplines and echelons, external agencies and industry to provide sustainment and supportability health analytics.
  • You will lead large cross competency teams in the conduct of ILAs for milestone (MS) decisions at MS B, C, and the FRP Decision Review for all ACAT programs and for non-ACAT programs as directed.
  • You will Identify and track programs that will require an ILA.
  • You will assign programs requiring an assessment to a team leader and ensure that programs requiring an assessment are identified on an ILA schedule.
