Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves planning and managing the movement of supplies, equipment, and support services for military operations, ensuring everything from deployment to redeployment runs smoothly across different regions.

This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command.
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Applying analytical principles and techniques to develop and maintain regional sustainment/retrograde/theater distribution plans.
Developing concepts of support addressing supply, maintenance, deployment and distribution, health services, engineering, logistic services, and operational contract support.
Resolving transportation feasibility questions impacting inter-theater and intra-theater movement and delivery of sustainment supplies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0346-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as a senior advisor for transportation, deployment, distribution, supply chain management.
Review, evaluate, and analyze Operations and Contingency Plans (OPLAN and CONPLANs) to identify potential gaps and seams in the distribution network and to create mitigation COAs.
Develop concepts of support addressing supply, maintenance, deployment and distribution, health services, engineering, logistic services, and operational contract support in order to meet sustainment requirements from theater entry and operations through redeployment and reset.
Coordinate the capabilities of joint forces, multi-nation forces, host nation, and other U.S.
government (USG) departments and agencies, Inter-Governmental Organizations (IGOs),and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs).
Monitor, assess, and direct distribution operations assuring the concept of support is effectively executed.
