(Must be hired as a Licensed Clinical Therapist to receive the bonus. $3,000 will be paid upon hire, and an additional $3,000 will be paid after the first year of employment. Those hired as a Caseworker III would be eligible for the bonus once becoming fully licensed as an LCT)

Job Duties:

As a Substance Use Therapist with the Utah Department of Corrections, you will play a vital role in helping individuals on their journey to recovery. You will be responsible for conducting clinical assessments, formulating treatment plans, and delivering specialized individual and group psychotherapy services. This position requires a strong commitment to improving the lives of those struggling with addiction.

The Ideal Candidate will:

Hold a License as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Clinical Mental Health Counselor.
Speak and Write effectively.
Have knowledge of psychological or mental health, and social factors that may contribute to the client's situation.
Have understanding of how to use case histories of client's/residents to further understand client population.
Have knowledge of human behavior and performance, individual differences in ability, personality, and interests.
Have knowledge and experience with a diverse population.
Have the ability to maintain detailed records.
Have knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunction.
Have the ability to evaluate the ongoing needs of the client, build treatment plans and monitor progress.
Will be able to speak and understand the Spanish language.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities will include the following duties:

Clinical Assessment: Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to evaluate clients' needs, strengths, and challenges related to substance use disorders.

Treatment Planning: Utilize independent judgment and discretion to diagnose clients and develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans that align with their recovery goals.

Therapeutic Interventions: Administer and facilitate individual and group psychotherapy sessions, following established treatment protocols and therapeutic modalities.

Client Progress: Document client progress, maintain accurate case histories, and prepare reports to track and communicate treatment outcomes effectively.

ASAM's: Administer the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) assessments as required and ensure appropriate treatment planning based on ASAM criteria.

Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in distress, collaborating with the clinical team when necessary.

Education and Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, interdisciplinary teams, and community resources to enhance client care and advocate for their needs.Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards while working with sensitive client information.

This position is NOT public safety certified and does not require peace officer status or certification.

Salary ranges specified reflect a minimum starting and top of range dollar amount. Actual rate per hour will be determined by evaluation of qualifications and skills of the individual and the availability of monies through budget and grants or by following DHRM rule.
