This job is for a library technician at a military base library in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where you'll handle tasks like checking out books, helping patrons find information, organizing materials, and running community events like story times.
It's a hands-on role that involves both customer service and behind-the-scenes work to keep the library running smoothly.
A good fit would be someone with library experience who enjoys working with people, especially in diverse groups, and is comfortable with computers and public speaking.
This position is located at Throckmorton Library, Fort Bragg, NC. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Army NAF paysetting rules apply to this vacancy.
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.
A qualified candidate must possess the following: One year of work experience that equipped the applicant with practical knowledge of library or related information services, tools, and methods and procedures.
Experience must have been gained at the next lower level.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Demonstrated proficiency in creating, planning, and presenting story times and outreach events that best reflect the community demographics and cultural diversity.
Ability of public speaking to large groups. Demonstrated knowledge of computer automated system techniques and computer competencies.
Demonstrated knowledge of Integrated Library System for circulating and processing items.
