The Department of Labor & Industries (L&I), an employer of choice is announcing an exciting opportunity for a Senior Generalist, Human Resource Consultant 4.
This position is an expert level human resource consultant who provides comprehensive human resources services and consultation to executives, managers, supervisors and employees in their assigned program areas.
This involves gaining a thorough understanding of the customer’s business needs and effectively overlaying a strong knowledge of human resource laws, rules, policies, processes and practices in order to identify best practices, provide sound advice and make recommendations.
The ultimate goal is to partner with the customer to ensure efficient and effective human resource administration.
This position directly supports L&I’s overall mission by providing consultation to executive and program managers on legal and efficient human resource practices to hire, retain and sustain a workforce supporting the mandates for the agency of protecting the safety of Washington workers and providing benefits to injured workers, ensuring fair wages, and quality industry services.
This work is directly tied to Goal 5: Make L&I an Employer of Choice.

OR
A Bachelor’s degree with focus on business administration, human resources, social or organizational behavior sciences, or related field

Three (3) years of progressively increasing broad-based professional human resource experience.

For this position, telework is permitted full time dependent upon business needs and supervisor approval. There will be occasions where in-office work is required.
The assigned duty station for this position is Tumwater, Washington.
For positions where in-office work is necessary, the frequency of telework will be discussed with the supervisor of the position at the time of offer.
