This job involves leading the facilities team for Washington's Department of Labor & Industries, overseeing everything from office maintenance and space planning to budgeting and long-term projects to keep workplaces safe and efficient.
You'll manage about 40 staff and work closely with government partners on leases, construction, and sustainability efforts.

This position directly supports L&I’s mission by providing professional, comfortable, efficient and safe facilities for employees and customers as our Facilities Program Manager!
In this role, you’ll be directly responsible and accountable for establishing the strategic and tactical direction for the agency-wide Facilities Services Program, and for maintaining strong working relationships with OFM, DES, legislative stakeholders and local jurisdictions, including coordinating cross-agency work efforts related to leases and co-located construction projects.
The Facilities Program Manager reports directly to the Assistant Director of the Administrative Services Division, and will be responsible for approximately 40 staff, including 4 supervisors.
This position leads and administers facilities planning; headquarters maintenance and operations, including capital projects, space planning and workplace design; field office lease management; and warehouse operations. Responsibilities include oversight of facilities budgeting, asset and portfolio management, real estate coordination, architecture and engineering services, space utilization, maintenance and building operations and enterprise project delivery.Maintain strategic alignment between investments in the agency’s facilities portfolio and the agency’s long-term ten-year facilities plan, including development of strategic planning documents that provide executive leadership with analysis and recommendations necessary to inform critical facility, capital, and infrastructure decisions.
Develop and execute the agency’s HQ and statewide workspace plan to address facilities growth, optimize space utilization, implement modern work environment and hybrid work principles, and support co-location initiatives in alignment with directives from OFM.
Serve as the agency’s Sustainability Coordinator providing oversight for the development and implementation of the DES and OFM required sustainability initiatives, including greenhouse gas reporting and agency-wide environmental performance efforts.
