Summary

This role involves leading a team of supply technicians in a defense logistics warehouse, where you'll handle inventory checks, investigate discrepancies, and ensure smooth distribution of materials.

You'll also train new staff and prepare reports on stock issues.

Key Requirements

To qualify for a Lead Supply Technician, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.

To qualify at the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes: Investigating and analyzing inventory and distribution information to determine the cause of record imbalances.

Conducting physical inventories and adjusting or maintaining stock by utilizing knowledge of supply regulations, policies and procedures.

Preparing and presenting recommendations and reports regarding conducted analysis and evaluation.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands: The Work requires the incumbent to physically walk the distribution center warehouses to conduct physical searches and to sit comfortably in an office environment when investigating inventory data.

Occasional situations may require climbing ladders, stooping, bending, and lifting to 70 pounds. Work Environment: The work is performed in both an office and warehouse environment.

May be required to wear safety shoes, back support when lifting, and operating equipment in support of material research. Major Duties:

  • Serves as a working leader over other employees and concurrently performs identical duties.
  • Distributes and balances the workload among empl0oyees in accordance with established workflow and assures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
  • Instructs employees in specific tasks and job techniques and makes available written instructions, reference materials and supplies.
  • Gives on the job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices.
  • Performs research and analysis when discrepancies are identified because of physical inventories. Assists with investigations when recording imbalances, losses, and/or Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs) problems related to lost material.
  • Determines the cause of record imbalances through collection, analysis, and evaluation of factors contributing to the inventory adjustment.
  • Conducts research, coordinates cost estimates and disposition instructions to appropriate work activities, commands, ICPs and stock readiness personnel.
