Summary

This job involves leading a team of security guards at a U.S.

Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: Lead Guards are responsible for safeguarding government personnel, property, and technologies against such threats as: unlawful entry, sabotage, espionage, theft, accidental or willful damage, and destruction.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life and engaging in work with protective systems and techniques.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level positions in the federal service (GS-06). Major Duties:

  • Check identification and vehicles to ensure only authorized personnel are allowed access.
  • Enter data into automated forms to provide visitor passes.
  • Support the implementation of installation emergency plans and the patrolling of restricted and limited access areas.
  • Serve as a Shift Leader who is an assistant to the Guard Shift Supervisor.
  • Enter personnel information to determine the appropriate access for individuals entering a location.
