This job is for a lead security guard at a U.S.

Full Job Description
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as a Shift Leader who is an assistant to the Guard Shift Supervisor.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes providing on-the-job security guard training to coworkers; safeguarding personnel, property, and/or technologies against threats such as theft, unlawful entry, damage, and destruction; verifying identification and/or credentials to grant access to a protected area; and inspecting containers, personal property, and/or documents on private, commercial, and/or government vehicles.
Major Duties:
- Independently performs, with little or no supervision, installation access control for pedestrians and vehicles.
- Incumbent is responsible for performing and resolving a full range of both standard procedural and non-recurring/unusual visitor access assignments.
- Operates and performs research queries on the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) workstation terminal(s) in accordance with (IAW) federal and state laws.
- Incumbent serves as a member of the installation’s overall security response capability during actual or simulated incidents.
- Implements the installation closure plan securing ACPs at heightened FPCONs, emergencies or disasters and then becomes a part of the installation response capability.
