About the position: This position is Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Moose Run Golf Course on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK.
This position is Flexible, meaning you are guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Your schedule will depend on needs of the facility.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which provides a basic knowledge and understanding of golf course operations including the rules of golf, equipment sale and repair, and tournament organization.
Must have experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, or other processing of cash items which includes, but not limited to; direct handling of cash items and use of cash accountability control methods.
Ability to lead 3 or more Recreation Aids (NF-0189-I), 3 or more Recreation Assistants (NF-0189-II), and 3 or more Laborers (NA-3502-02). Must have ability to read, write, and speak English.
Must have ability to communicate orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Conditions of Employment: Must be 21 years of age.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Background Investigation (Tier 1 Level). Must have a valid driver's license and provide current driving record. Major Duties:
Works under the direction of the Assistant Golf Course Manager who is available to deal with unusual situations which may occur and to provide guidance and instructions when performing new or procedurally complex duties.
Performs as manager on duty in the absence of the Golf Course Manager, Assistant Manager, and Supervisory Administrative Assistant.
Leads a staff of 3 -12 employees, assigns and reviews work assignments on a daily basis.
As a working leader, performs the following types of duties: Provides day-to-day advice and guidance to employees for work assignments; relays instructions from the supervisor for work assignments; gets the work started and sets the work pace; demonstrates work methods and provides work related guidance; ensures that the worksite materials and tools are available; and ensures that employees follow security and safety rules.
Performs and/or assists in the operation and maintenance of the golf course, pro shop, driving range, course starter, course marshal, cart rental, club storage, and caddy activities.
Provides patron guidance for selection of golf equipment and merchandise. Schedules tee times, golf clinics, lessons, and tournaments.
Assists patrons with golf club rental, assigns golf carts, sells pro shop merchandise, processes special orders, and informally demonstrates equipment usage.
Explains course safety rules and regulations to patrons. Responsible for maintaining the pro shop in a neat, clean, and orderly condition.
Ensures only authorized patrons use golf course and facilities. May provide golf instructions to individuals and groups.
Assists in the scheduling and conducting of golf related activities and tournaments. Plans work schedules, determines performance objectives and rates performance as needed.
Opens and closes the facility as required. Make operational decisions while on shift. Accounts for the income and compiles daily financial reports.
Responsible for all properties and assets during their assigned shift. Trains and schedules starters, player assistants, cashiers, and cart attendants as needed.
