Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of lifeguards at an outdoor pool on a military base in Arkansas, where you'll schedule shifts, train staff, maintain the facility, and handle rescues or emergencies as needed.

It's a flexible, part-time role with no guaranteed hours, ideal for someone with lifeguarding experience who enjoys working outdoors and supporting community recreation.

Key Requirements

  • Nationally recognized lifeguard certification, water rescue methods, basic first aid, and CPR for child and adult (must complete within first 5 days of employment)

About the position: This position will be assigned to the Little Rock AFB - Outdoor Recreation Pool. May be required to work uncommon tour of duty.

This is a flexible position with no guaranteed minimum hours, with scheduling up to 40 hours per week possible.

Position will not exceed the date of September 26, 2026 Up to $250 Lifeguard Certification reimbursement, rules apply.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must successfully complete nationally recognized certification in lifeguarding and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) for the professional rescuer training, within the first 5 days of employment.

Applicant must have experience and specialization of the position.

Knowledge of a variety of water safety instructions, as well as, swimming facility rules, work procedures, equipment and materials to perform standing, recurring tasks and special task under the instructions from the supervisor.

Gives advice, counsel and instruction to individual employees on both work and administrative matters. Major Duties:

This position duties include: Directs and supports the aquatic team by distributing tasks, creating weekly schedules, and serving as the primary information source for all work-related matters.

Leads and documents training sessions for all lifeguards to ensure their skills meet and exceed performance standards, including regular conditioning drills.

Oversees the daily cleaning and maintenance of the pools, bathhouses, and surrounding areas to provide a clean and safe environment for all patrons.

Fulfills all responsibilities of a lifeguard, including swimmer rescue, administering first aid, and leading the team during emergency situations.

Handles opening and closing procedures, manages customer admission and fees, monitors water quality, and maintains accurate administrative records.

Acts as the first point of contact for resolving simple complaints from both staff and patrons, referring more complex issues to a supervisor.
