Full Job Description

This position is part of the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC) Personnel Demonstration Project.

The NT-03 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 through GS-14. This position has a control point of GS-13 step 10.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1.

Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: REVIEWING MY OWN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY-RELATED WORK OR DATA AND HAVE BEEN RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING THE WORK OF OTHERS TO ENSURE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, AND CONSISTENCY WITH STANDARDS.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: MONITOR CUSTOMER INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) PERFORMANCE TRENDS TO IDENTIFY STANDARD REMEDIES AT DIFFERENT SUPPORT TIER LEVELS (E.G., TIER-1, TIER-2, TIER-3).

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: PRESENT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) PROGRAM STRATEGIES TO SENIOR LEADERS FOR THE INCORPORATION OF EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES. 4.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: PERFORM A RISK ANALYSIS OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) SYSTEMS TO IDENTIFY PROBLEMS AND RECOMMEND SOLUTIONS.

AND In addition to demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must support at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Applying information systems security principles and concepts; new IT security developments; and project management principle. 2.

Analyzing computer utilization and system performance by identifying intrusions, misuse, malfunctions, misconfigurations, and inefficiencies. 3.

Recommending changes to system design, software, operating procedures, and other protection mechanisms to ensure system integrity. 4.

Conducting analysis and recommend resolution of complex issues affecting the specialty area; 5. Maintaining Risk Management Framework policy, programs, and guidelines.

  • You will advise and provide technical oversight and assistance to staff in carrying out security development, implementation, operations, and maintenance requirements.
