Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of about 20 IT professionals in designing, building, running, and securing computer networks for the Navy, including both everyday and sensitive classified systems.

You'll manage projects, plan workforce needs, and guide big-picture IT strategies to keep everything running smoothly and safely.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-13 or equivalent, including end-to-end IT network design, engineering, implementation, operation, and administration for unclassified and classified systems
  • Proven skills in vulnerability assessment, compliance monitoring, enforcement, and reporting for IT systems and processes
  • Experience supervising and providing managerial direction to a team of engineers, computer scientists, and IT professionals (approximately 20 staff)
  • Ability to manage IT projects, services, products, implementation, sustainment, and operations oversight
  • Strong skills in attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving
  • Experience in workforce planning, business strategy development, and managing IT portfolios and service catalogs
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture guidance and coordination for IT projects

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPEC (INFOSEC) in the Corporate Operations, Code 80000 of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.

NM-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NM-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing end-to-end design, planning, engineering, implementation, operation, administration, configuration management, vulnerability assessment, and compliance monitoring, enforcement, and reporting for unclassified and classified IT network systems, services, and processes supporting commands.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

NM-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NM-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

  • You will supervise and provide managerial and administrative direction to a staff of approximately twenty Engineers, Computer Scientists, and other IT professionals.
  • You will manage IT projects, services, and products; implementation, sustainment, and operations oversight for assigned projects, systems, products, and services.
  • You will l identify and address work unit workforce planning and management issues.
  • You will lead and participate in Command level business strategy development initiatives.
  • You will manage development and sustainment of the IT Portfolio and IT Service Catalog.
  • You will provide enterprise architecture guidance, support, and coordination to customers and IT project teams.
