Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team in fighting fires, handling hazardous materials, performing rescues, and providing emergency medical care at a Navy installation in Gulfport, Mississippi.

It requires hands-on experience in fire suppression and safety protocols in high-risk environments like airfields or industrial sites.

A good fit would be someone with prior firefighting background, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to safety training, ideally from military, volunteer, or professional fire services.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a LEAD FIREFIGHTER (HAZARDOUS MATERIAL TECHNICIAN) of NAVCONSTRBATCTRGPT.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department or brigade.

Experience performing rescue operation. Experience detecting, reducing or eliminating the potential fire hazards. Experience controlling hazardous materials incidents.

Experience providing training in fire protection and prevention.
