Job Description

Summary

This job involves overseeing the maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of facilities at a military education site in Georgia, including inspecting buildings, managing budgets for repairs and projects, and using software to track tasks.

It's a leadership role where you'll coordinate teams, plan projects, and report to higher offices.

A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience in building operations and strong organizational skills who enjoys working in a structured government environment.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Major Duties:

  • Manage a comprehensive facility operations program.
  • Utilize various types of software applications to assist in tracking maintenance, custodial and grounds.
  • Conducts facility system inspections, evaluates facility operations during staff assistance visits throughout the assigned district.
  • Develop budgets to support the assigned facilities operations, custodial services, maintenance, and repair plans at the district level.
  • Compiles budgets, facility project information and other data calls from supervisors within a district to submit to the Regional Office using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Assist facility engineers with analysis of facility space management, MILCON and SRM projects, compiles district data to submit to the regional office.
  • Manages timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project completion. Plans, coordinates, and monitors facility-related projects efficiently.
  • Conduct technical briefings and presentations clearly and concisely to groups and individuals.
  • Assists the regional facility operations chief by providing team leadership to district supervisory facility operations specialist for all aspects of the facility operations programs.
