Job Description

Summary

This job involves overseeing the operations of naval facilities, including planning maintenance, managing budgets, and supervising teams to keep buildings and utilities running smoothly.

It's a supervisory role in a public works department for the Navy in Georgia.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-12 level or equivalent, including identifying and prioritizing facility/utility needs, planning, scheduling, and budgeting
  • Proficiency in utilizing the Navy's MAXIMO Computerized Maintenance Management System
  • Experience managing work processes for receiving, planning, assigning, and executing customer requirements in facilities programs
  • Knowledge of facilities management, maintenance, repair, and construction execution
  • Supervisory skills to manage complex work and workforce within schedule and resource constraints
  • Understanding of personnel rules, NAVFAC management processes, budget principles, contracting methods, and regulations

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPV FACILITY OPERATION SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following 1) Identifying and prioritizing all facility and utility requirements, including the development, planning, scheduling, acquisition, budget expenditures; 2) Effectively utilizing the Navy's Computerized Maintenance Management System (MAXIMO); and 3) Managing the work management processes of receiving, planning, assigning, and executing customer work requirements for facilities programs.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will have knowledge of computer database management (MAXIMO) and spreadsheet design applications and their implementation.
  • You will have a thorough knowledge of facilities management and how these responsibilities interrelate to affect a comprehensive maintenance, repair, and construction execution program
  • You will have to supervise and manage complex work and a complex workforce to achieve the most effective services within schedule and resource constraints.
  • You will have a working knowledge of personnel rules and regulations to perform in a supervisory capacity.
  • You will have to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must have the ability to prepare reports and briefings and present them to departmental, Command, and regional senior management.
  • You will have knowledge of NAVFAC and regional management processes, budget and funding principles, contracting methods, and regulations in order to develop budgets.
  • You will execute funding of projects and perform duties associated with contract oversight and compliance.
