Job Description

Summary

This job is for a laborer at a medical supplies warehouse on a military base in Washington, where you'll handle tasks like loading and unloading trucks, moving supplies, and basic maintenance such as mowing lawns or washing vehicles.

It involves physical work under normal supervision and supports the Defense Health Agency.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Laborer ~ without more than normal supervision.

Ability to perform common Laborer duties such as loading and unloading trucks; moving office furniture, equipment, and supplies by hand or with various moving devices (e.g., dollies and/or hand trucks); mowing lawns and trimming shrubs; washing vehicles; and clearing and digging ditches.

I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

  • Perform one or a combination of the following variety of tasks requiring sustained physical effort; manual tasks are performed either as a member of a group or alone.
  • Assist with shipment or issuing of designated stock by proceeding to area, finding a stock and verifying information shown on shipping or issuing document against that on stock tags or bin tags.
  • Determine from which stock or bin items are to be removed; remove stock, assuring that proper quantity and nomenclature of selected stock agree with information contained on document.
  • Assist the warehouse worker with receiving supplies and equipment by unloading conveyances.
  • Deliver material within medical treatment facility utilizing hand carts and pallet jacks.
  • Perform stock inventories upon request for higher graded employees.
