Why It's a great opportunity: In this role, you will be a key contributor on a team of IT professionals delivering critical technology solutions that support Pierce County operations and services to residents.

Assigned to the Client Services Endpoint Management Team, you will help implement, maintain, and manage endpoint services that directly support business processes with a focus on cell phones, phone services, land laptop computers.

This will include providing engineering and technical support to County IT clients and partner agencies, executing operational procedures, fulfilling service requests, and collaborating with IT staff, vendors, and contractors to ensure enterprise architecture and security standards are met.

The Information Technology Division’s 130 staff are responsible for building, operating, and maintaining the technologies that power essential public services in Pierce County.

We provide diverse technology solutions including commercial applications, geographic information systems, and sophisticated custom software, supported by a robust hybrid infrastructure combining both on-premises and cloud-based platforms, and all secured by a reliable network.

Core daily responsibilities:

  • Provide critical operational support for a variety of user system platforms including handheld, desktop, workstation and laptop hardware, associated operating systems and application software.
  • Specialize in providing skilled technical support for the entire County within specific assigned hardware or software tool areas.
  • Participate in technical strategic planning and implementation of new user system platform technology standards.
  • Provide advanced direct consulting services for customer departments regarding technology budgeting, computing solutions, client-oriented technology project implementation, re-location services, and user application productivity to include meeting training needs.

Qualifications

  • A resume and cover letter are required for this position.
  • Additional education or experience may substitute for the recruiting requirements.
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in information technology, computer sciences, business, public administration or related field, AND
  • Four or more years of information technology experience required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • In depth understanding of Windows 11 OS inclusive of Active Directory (AD) and Azure AD, Group Policy, endpoint security, networking, and automation.
  • Practical working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Operation Intune, SCCM/MECM, MDT, and scripting (PowerShell/Windows command line).
