The United States Space Force (USSF) at Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, CA is searching for a IT Specialist (Systems Analysis) to support SYD 84 (NH-2210-02, GS-5/11 equivalent).
Description: Serve as an Information Technology (IT) Systems Analyst in planning, designing, and implementing IT systems to meet the business requirements of customer organizations.
Performs as a technical advisor to functional users of IT. Provides technical assistance to the user community during all phases of the standard life cycle of assigned systems.
Participates in conferences, workshops, and task groups of user activities and higher headquarters. Identifies training requirements and assists in training users on new and changing technology.
Reviews and provides commentary on proposed policies, directives, bulletins, training manuals, and other written documentation.
Continually reviews advancements in technology and market advancements to provide functional users with the latest information which affects their organization's use of IT.
Responds to user requests to review new off-the-shelf hardware and software that have potential to enhance IT use Analyzes and evaluates all aspects of existing equipment systems, available products, mission requirements, advances in technology, compatibility with current systems, cost, and life cycle of products to determine the best method to meet current and future needs.
Prepares technical specifications and supporting documentation, which are incorporated into contracts and purchase orders.
Ensures information in contracting documents is stated clearly and completely, terminology and conditions are understandable by suppliers of equipment and services, and performance criteria are clearly defined.
Serves as the Contracting Officer's technical representative on portions of major acquisitions.
Provides technical guidance and assistance during the acquisition phase of projects Ideal Candidate: Experience in information technology, supply/inventory, and secure facility knowledge - Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of information technology (IT) Support Services, Information Assurance, and Security - Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely and with technical accuracy.
- Use varied approaches to resolve or collaborate on projects/programs issues. - Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.
- Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances, to apply internet technologies to analyze networks and the related security aspects, and predict how management can meet future requirements - Knowledge of customers' business processes and operations to anticipate and refine functional requirements.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Key Skills and Abilities: 1.
Knowledge of information technology (IT) Support Services, Information Assurance, Security and International Trade and Treaty Compliance, Operational Risk Management, and Facilities management. 2.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 3.
Knowledge of a broad range of telecommunications concepts and principles, operating modes, systems, media, equipment, equipment configuration, and related software system, processes and procedures to assess and advise on vulnerability to attack form a variety of sources ( e.g., espionage, disruption of services, destructive programs/applications) and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications.
4. Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations. 5.
