Full Job Description

The mission of DOE/NNSA is to ensure the United States maintains a safe, secure, and reliable nuclear stockpile through the application of unparalleled science, technology, engineering, and manufacturing the works to prevent nuclear weapon proliferation and reduce the threat of nuclear and radiological terrorism around the world.

The agency endeavor to prevent the development of nuclear weapons and the spread of materials or knowledge needed to create them.

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA pay band or GS grade level in the Federal Service i.e., EN-03 or GS-13.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience serving as a Subject Matter Expert with the authority and responsibility for overseeing the development and utilization of IT systems and operations; and/or experience managing all aspects of the project management lifecycle.

Examples of qualifying experience includes: Experience in IT systems design, system controls, and project management techniques to perceive vulnerabilities.

Experience making recommendations to senior leadership concerning overall plans and proposals for complex IT project, related to ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and timely resource provisioning.

Major Duties:

As an Information Technology Specialist, you will: Provide expert advice and implements efficient and effective day-to-day IT operations, ensuring NNSA's operational requirements are fully met.

Provide overall program management and leadership of IT operations initiatives, including requirements analysis, systems analysis, procurement, development, testing, implementation, design, and documentation of all system and security efforts.

Responsible for the management, planning, acquisition, integration, deployment, and administration of information technology (IT) assets, and evaluates, implements, and manages appropriate software/hardware solutions.

Design, plan, implement, manage, and evaluate large scale and extremely complex IT and cybersecurity projects and their associated requirements and risks.
