The primary purpose of this position is to: serve as the Lead AFJWICS Systems Engineer responsible for assessing the Information Technology capabilities supporting the AFJWICS mission areas and making recommendations to the AFJWICS architectures.
This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS).
The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level.
The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
NOTE: You must meet both the Basic Qualifications and Specialized Experience requirements stated below: BASIC REQUIREMENTS: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of a wide range of IT principles and systems analysis concepts/techniques, new/emerging information technologies and solutions.
Extensive knowledge of system design tools, methods and techniques; and system architecture, integration techniques and testing methods.
Advance knowledge of customary approaches, techniques, and requirements appropriate to analyze requirements, develop strategies, and implement systems enhancements.
In-depth knowledge of existing policy guidance for AFJWICS systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Expert skill in program management and systems integration and ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures. 2.
Ability to understand and translate user requirements into technical solutions. 3.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, in order to produce technical reports and/or briefings for multiple forums and audiences. 4.
Ability to work remotely at a customer site with minimal direct supervision and professionally present results. 5.
Ability to make decision independently and in a self-directed manner in support of team or organizational goals. 6. In-depth knowledge of existing policy guidance for AFJWICS systems.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
DUTY 1: Provide IT subject matter expert guidance on current and future information technology architectures and standards supporting the AFJWICS mission and mission support area.
DUTY 2: Evaluates and advocates AFJWICS initiatives via corporate processes to adhere to current Intelligence Community(IC) standards and direction.
DUTY 3: Attends DoD and agency conference and meetings that bring together national-level and enterprise users to ensure integration information is obtained, disseminated and integration issues are resolved.
