Full Job Description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/SYSADMIN) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2727000 and is part of the IL DOL, National Guard.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S.

Code § 709), the only area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.

Military Grades: Enlisted only E4-E8 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess IT-related experience demonstrating each of these four competencies; attention to detail while performing work, ability to provide customer service, express information using oral communication, and use information and sound judgement in problem solving.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-9 Level. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 Level MUST possess at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade of GS-9; experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization; experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls; experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment; experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.

As a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/SYSADMIN) (TITLE 32), GS-2210-11, you will provide support for Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs to all State/Territories activities/organizations and perform a wide range of specialized methods/techniques for planning; analyzing and identifying problems in order to develop and implement resolutions to administrative and systemic programs throughout the organization.

Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Serve as an advisor to the Supervisory Logistics Information Technology (LIT) Specialist (SASMO) and Systems Administrator on all Combat Service Support (CSS) Automated Logistics Systems and Programs.

Exercise knowledge and oversight for all matters pertaining to the fielding and operation of Automated Logistics System and Programs.

Utilize an extensive knowledge of logistics programs/operations and a clear understanding of automated systems to manage projects and programs for systems integration of CSS automation.

Identify funding requirements to support SASMO operations, justify and submit budget requirements for State operating budget, and executes funds received.

Serve as the senior LIT systems administrator responsible for planning, coordinating, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting to support customer needs.

Research and resolve hardware, software, and applications program problems by troubleshooting and working with users, NGB support agencies, and/or manufacturer/vendors/representatives as required.

Provide advisory services for functional users.

Analyze requirements, manage, and coordinate automated logistics information system hardware and peripherals pertaining to the receipt, distribution, installation, and life cycle management of devices that are directed to be managed at unit/state level.
