Base salary range: $74,441 - $96,770
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-11. Advanced degree + significant experience.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves providing IT support for a U.S. Attorney's office in Chicago, focusing on managing networks, servers, and hardware to keep systems running smoothly and securely.
You'll troubleshoot problems, optimize performance, and help users with their tech needs while ensuring access controls are in place.

As needed, additional positions may be filled using this announcement. GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must meet one full year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level.
Specialized Experience: Qualifying experience demonstrates possession of each of the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
Specialized experience is defined as configuration, installation, or management of network systems; installing Windows based servers and maintaining existing servers; establishing metrics to measure and evaluate systems performance; performing network diagnostics and resolving network problems; maintaining network architecture and infrastructure; installing and maintaining compatible database systems.
Major Duties:
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for Information Technology support for the Northern District of Illinois.
Typical work assignments will include: Maintaining network, architecture and infrastructure; Configuring and maintaining servers, hubs, routers, and switches; Resolves hardware/software interface and interoperability problems; Optimizes system performance and identifies components to improve overall systems performance; Manages accounts, network rights and access to systems and equipment; Monitors functionality, security and integrity of internet services.
Manages internet servers; Installs, configures, troubleshoots and maintains customer hardware and software.
Providing for customer training Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
