This job involves working as an IT specialist focused on information security for a naval telecommunications station in Greece, where you'll manage and protect computer networks, ensure compliance with security rules, and advise leaders on cyber threats.

The role emphasizes problem-solving to keep systems safe from attacks while adapting to new technologies.
You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMSLANT) Detachment Souda Bay, Greece.
This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.
Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.
Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled by demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: 1.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Ensuring the networks managed are in compliance with all applicable policies, standards, and business processes. 2.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Recommend new approaches and solutions in delivery of secure services; Applying Information Technology policies, concepts, methods, standards in a secure manner, according to DoD and DoD requirements and recommendations, sufficient to providing technical advice, guidance and recommendations to Detachment leadership and personnel.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Effectively describe resources needed and defend the need sufficient to secure what is necessary and/or document impact if not received; Communicate effectively written and orally to accomplish continuous coordination and to critically review documents related to Cyber Security.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Identifying and resolving cyber discrepancies and deficiencies in order to improve information systems and protect the networks.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have the following experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.
Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled by demonstrating the following: 1) Operating and defending computers and telecommunications systems within Risk Management Framework using Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) qualifications (e.g.
ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Comptia Security +, ECCOUNCIL Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)) 2) Identifying requirements and changes to the Information Security programs, certification, accreditation and strategies based on new security technologies or threats 3) Verifying the resulting Interim Authority to Operate (IATO) deficiencies are corrected and avoiding any delays.
