Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position.

To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes: - Designs and configures metadata schemas, retention labels and policies, sensitivity labels, DLP rules, access controls, and lifecycle automation features in M365 and associated cloud systems in accordance with established enterprise architecture and policy.

- Develops technical implementation guidance for new ILG requirements and ensures systems integrate retention, lifecycle, access, and data protection controls consistently across repositories to support compliance, auditability, and risk mitigation.

- Develops automation workflows and technical routines to improve lifecycle and privacy control enforcement, including Power Automate flows, metadata-driven routing, retention triggers, automated classification, reporting, and monitoring of data handling practices.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Serves as an IT Specialist responsible for providing advanced technical expertise in the design, implementation, automation, and sustainment of enterprise lifecycle governance and privacy by design controls across DLA's cloud and M365 environments
  • Ensures DLA information systems meet lifecycle, metadata, retention, interoperability, digital preservation, privacy protection requirements in alignment with federal records, data governance, and privacy statutes and regulations.
  • Implements the technical aspects of the DLA Information Lifecycle Governance (ILG) program, ensuring governance, compliance, and privacy engineering principles are embedded into enterprise platforms and workflows.
  • Configures enterprise metadata schemas, retention architectures, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and access controls, sensitivity label configurations...
  • ...automated classification, disposition controls, and digital governance features to reduce legal, regulatory, and operational risk.
